Bookbinder
Joanne V. Taddei is Frogsong's bookbinder. Joanne was drawn to her career by a lifelong interest in paper, textiles and letter forms. She has been binding and repairing books since 1999. Joanne honed her bookbinding skills as an apprentice to James Currier at Currier Bindery.
Book restoration fits Joanne's philosophy of giving new life to objects, rather than discarding them. She delights in creating one-of-a-kind books to celebrate milestones in her clients' lives.
Professional Affiliations
Joanne Taddei belongs to the New England chapter of the Guild of Book Workers. The Guild's purpose is to broaden public awareness of the hand book arts, to stimulate commissions of fine bindings, and to stress the need for sound book conservation and restoration.
Joanne is also a member of the Letterpress Guild of New England, a group of printers, designers, typographers, book artists, and others interested in the craft of letterpress printing.
